Skillsignal is a unique US-based workforce safety and compliance startup. They were looking to build a WFCA that helps facilitate and track workers, inspect their safety, compliances and attendance. They also needed a web and mobile solution that helps General Contractors, Subcontractors, Workers and Supervisors on one platform to manage their worksite.

Executive Summary :
The mission was to reduce the devastating 5,000+ work-related deaths/year in US Construction, Logistics, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Energy through this platform. The goal was to create a unique software ecosystem that ensures anyone who walks on a dangerous worksite, workplace or manufacturing floor is trained, skilled and compliant to do a job safely and efficiently. The system would provide real-time knowledge of your workforce and subs to avoid risk, lapses and penalties.
This software could also help make construction sites, workplace and manufacturing floors safe instantly, improve security, identify defects or deviations, reduce liability and maintain compliance. WCFA also makes your site ready for inspection. The application manages all your documents, forms and field notes on the Cloud. You will also get automatic reminders, alerts and daily logs.
Challenges:
The primary hurdles included the following:
- Staff management in the construction space.
- Managing New & Existing General Contractor and Admin Workflow.
- Facilitating and Tracking of Workers available to the Workers/Supervisors.
- Kiosk Application to Scan the Workers for attendance.
- Managing shifts and flexibility to change and create multiple shifts.
- Managing payroll, daily reports of attendance along with other additional reports.
- Alerts for the compliance gaps, data mismatch and for workers with potential health concerns in the COVID pandemic.
- Messaging and alerts in case of natural calamities, accidents and incidents.
- Auto-generation and mailing of reports.
- Site configuration and setup.
- Ensuring Mandatory Safety training with videos.
- Manage Visitors on site.
Solutions:
The two-part solution included:
1. Web Application: A web interface for Admin and General Contractor of the WFCA LLC to onboard, maintain and manage the General Contractor, Workers, Developers, Certifications, Unions, Skills, Training Providers, Sub Contractors, Crews, Projects & Sites, Libraries and WFCA ID Users. Reports such as Daily, DOB, Labor per subcontractor (Census and Hours), Site, Weekly Subcontractor Census, Worker, worker Certification helped the General Contractors to get insights about the operation on any site.
2. Mobile Application: For the workers and supervisors to maintain, manage and access all the information related to their profile, attendance, answer health questionnaires and events.
3. ID Mobile Application: For Workers/Supervisors, General Contractor and SSID Users such as report generation, clock in workers, answer their health questionnaires, create and manage worker profile, manage events, facilitate visitor’s entries etc.

The outcome of the solution included:
